What We Do

Here in Portland, we’re deeply embedded in a number of movements.

We do more than just meet and talk about politics once a week- we’re also actively involved in building struggle around town.  Changing the world requires raising consciousness and building movements- the type of movements that are in it for the long haul.  It’s unfortunate, but the reality is that the world likely won’t change tomorrow: it’s going to take years of committed work, patient growth, and continuous involvement.

Here are the things we’re actively involved- on a week to week basis- with building.  There are an infinite number of things we could be involved in and there are many struggles and campaigns we support, but we have limited resources and try to make conscious, well thought out decisions about what we’re actively committing ourselves to.  In the future- as we grow- we hope to be involved in much more.  If you want to get plugged in to what we’re currently doing, check out one of our weekly meetings, one of the meetings below, or drop us a line!

Anti-racist struggle: The Campaign to End the New Jim Crow

Anti-war work: Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions and the Struggle for Palestinian Liberation

Education: Social Equality Educators and the struggle against education “reform.”

Save the Post Office: Community and Postal Workers United.
